Spider Veins May Be One of the First Signs of Venous Disease
Spider veins appear just under the skin. They are caused by abnormal venous blood flow resulting in an increased pressure in these smaller veins, causing them to stretch and become prominent.
Spider veins can be associated with aching burning pain and a feeling of tired legs that increases after long periods of standing or activity.
Many patients are bothered by unsightly spider veins because of their cosmetic appearance but spider veins may also be a sign of more serious venous disease.
When Spider Veins are More Than a Cosmetic Problem
When you come to JVAI for spider vein treatment, we will also evaluate you for signs of underlying venous disease. If present, this underlying venous disease is addressed before any cosmetic work is done. This approach minimizes the risk of recurrence of the spider veins. Should we find this to be your problem, you may be entitled to insurance benefits for diagnosis and treatment.
State-of-the-Art Spider Vein Treatment
JVAI uses cutting-edge procedures to eliminate spider veins based on the individual needs of the patient. Laser spider vein treatment is accomplished with the Dornier Medilas D Flexipulse 940 nm laser. Foam sclerotherapy injections are also used where appropriate and in combination with laser treatments. Through laser and/or sclerotherapy, spider veins are erased right before the patient's eyes with very little discomfort and no down time.
