Diagnosis of Venous Disease

Accurate Diagnosis Through Examination and Ultrasound Technology
  Diagnosis of venoous disease

Most venous disease is not detected with a standard venous ultrasound scan. Accurate diagnosis of venous disease begins with a specialized examination developed by Douglas Joyce, D.O. and our ultrasound staff. The examination involves using specialized ultrasound technology that is highly accurate in locating venous pathology in need of correction.

This equipment, only available at JVAI, has been uniquely designed to identify major causes of venous dysfunction. The ultrasound exam is performed at our vein clinic in Punta Gorda, Florida by a skilled and experienced staff member of JVAI who is a Venous Ultrasound Specialist.

Once your venous disease is properly diagnosed at our state-of-the-art vein clinic, we are able to determine the appropriate vein treatment for you. We have a proven record for curing venous disease, even in patients who suffered for years with chronic debilitating symptoms and had little or no response to wound care and other medical treatments for leg ulcers that would not heal.

Many procedures for diagnosing and treating venous disease are covered by Medicare and private insurance. Contact our professional and experienced staff today to request a consultation.

"I had bad circulation all the way down to my feet and ankles," says Roland Karpinski of Broward County. "As a result, I had developed a couple of wounds on each ankle and they wouldn't heal. I went to wound care centers, vascular surgeons, and other specialists for almost five years. Not one of those treatments succeeded in eliminating my painful leg ulcers. I had some vein stripping done, but the wounds just closed and opened, closed and opened...they would never heal...I went in for four skin grafts, but they didn't work either. The situation created a grueling routine...I went to a wound care center every Monday, they would treat the wound and wrap me back up again and the following week I'd have to come back and start all over. I always had these big four-layer casts on and they were terrible to deal with. I had to buy shoes that were a size too big so that I could get them over the casts. And I had to take medication." After suffering five years with what appears to be an incurable condition, Roland learned about Dr. Joyce. He drove nearly four hours to Port Charlotte on the recommendation of a vascular specialist in Broward County. Roland underwent the SEPS procedure on both legs. He had this to say: "Both legs are healed, and the quality of my skin is a lot better. It was a long way to go, but it came out perfect. Their whole staff does an excellent job. They're great!" Roland's wife added, "Dr. Joyce is very, very nice. I talked to the nurses at the hospital there and they have a lot of respect for him."
