History:
This patient presented with skin
thickening, pain and cellulitis with ulceration.
Problem: Incompetent
subfascial perforator veins causing superficial
venous hypertension.
Treatment: Subfascial
Endoscopic Perforator Surgery.
Comments:
Many times local infection of the skin around
an ulcer occurs resulting in painful cellulitis.
It is difficult to treat this as the high
pressure in the skin veins make it difficult
for antibiotics to reach the infected area.
The SEPS procedure reduces this pressure
and allows the antibiotics to reach the
area and the cure the infection. The ulcer
heals because the blood flow to the area
becomes normal again. |
