History:
This patient presented with a non-healing
ulcer which started as an injury.
Problem: Incompetent
subfascial perforator veins causing superficial
venous hypertension.
Treatment: Subfascial
Endoscopic Perforator Surgery.
Comments: These
ulcers often begin as an injury such as
walking into a low table. They are dificult
to heal due to high pressure in the skin
veins. This pressure makes it difficult
for the skin to obtain adequate nutrition
to heal the wound and a chronic ulcer develops.
The ulcer in this case resolved in 3 months.
