You will interact with and shadow Dr. Joyce
and our OR staff during in-office procedures.
You will observe the use of the Dornier
940 nm laser for ELAS and spider vein ablation.
In addition, you will observe sclerotherapy
and microphlebectomy techniques. Due to
the level of the instruction, attendance
is limited to two physicians at a time.
The cost of this training is $2,000 per
physician.
Friday is the Physician
SEPS Instructional Day
You will meet Dr. Joyce at one
of the local hospitals to observe and be
instructed in the technique of subfascial
endoscopic perforator surgery for complex
perforator cases. Exposure generally consists
of eight to twelve cases. Due to the level
of the instruction, attendance is limited
to two physicians at a time. SEPS instruction
is open to General, Vascular and Cardiothoracic
Surgeons only. The cost of this training
is $1,500 per physician.
Venous Incompetency
Ultrasound instruction is also offered on
Thursdays
This is a hands-on training course.
A complete and accurate venous ultrasound
examination is the heart of a vein practice.
Many perforators and other venous pathology
are missed with a standard venous scan.
Dr. Joyce and our radiologic staff developed
a specialized examination to locate incompetent
venous perforators as well as other pertinent
venous dysfunction. These examinations are
highly accurate in locating venous pathology
in need of correction. Due to the level
of the instruction, attendance is limited
to one technician at a time. The cost of
this training is $500 per technician.
