"I truly believe that God has blessed me over the years with the ability to provide the best care for others. My practice has included adult and pediatric open-heart surgery, chest trauma surgery and vascular surgery. I now primarily specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disorders of the legs. I became more and more interested in these diseases over the past 10 years as I realized how prevalent they were. I found that many of the patients sent to me for arterial disease actually had venous problems which were correctable. There was clearly a need for a facility to provide state-of-the-art vein treatment for these patients. This led me to change my practice emphasis and establish Joyce Vein & Aesthetic Institute in Punta Gorda, Florida.

I firmly believe that for people to function at an optimum level, they must be healthy and feel good about themselves. For that reason, a natural extension of my practice was to include the addition of skin care and acne treatment, and permanent hair removal strategies. I also recommend and make available for purchase, an advanced line of skin care products that are used in our treatment program."

Over the past decade, Dr. Joyce has become a leader in the vein treatment field. Originally he pioneered the SEPS procedure, performing one of the highest volumes of SEPS procedures and achieving over a 90% cure rate of venous ulcers.

Dr. Joyce's desire to continually improve the quality of his venous disease treatment prompted him to pioneer two new less invasive technologies. His replacement of SEPS with laser ablation set a new standard when he achieved a 96% success rate with virtually no complications for the treatment of incompetent venous perforators in the office setting. These procedures have proved to be highly effective and well tolerated with the use of local and tumescent anesthesia.

Dr. Joyce presented his most recent venous disease treatment data before his colleagues during the November 5-8th, 2009 American College of Phlebology's 23rd Annual Congress in Palm Desert, California.
